University of Minnesota athletic director Joel Maturi will be at the Albert Lea Noon Lions Club meeting Thursday at the Elks.

The meeting will begin at noon with Maturi talking about the new football stadium drawings.

The cost is $10 to attend.

Boys&8217; soccer team to have pancake fundraiser

The Albert Lea High School boys&8217; soccer team is having a pancake breakfast fundraiser at Applebee&8217;s Saturday, Aug. 18 from 7 to 10 a.m.

Pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice and coffee will be served.

Fall sports sign-up this week

Fall sports sign-up for grades nine through 12 this week. Sign-up at the athletic office at the high school.

Today and Friday the office is open 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and and Thursday from noon to 7:30 p.m.

Must be signed up, forms filled out, physical updated and fee paid in order to be placed on the roster. Must be on the roster in order to start practice.

ALHS girls&8217; soccer meeting today

The Albert Lea High School girls&8217; soccer team will be kicking off the season with a picnic. The picnic is today at 6 p.m. at the large pavilion at Edgewater Park.

All seventh through 12th grade players and parents are invited to come. The time commitment is short. The agenda includes a light supper, sharing information and getting input from you.

Soccer car wash set for Saturday

The Albert Lea High School girls&8217; soccer car wash is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Hy-Vee parking lot. Free will donations are accepted.
