Funeral services for Jodi Marie Wangsness, 41, of Albert Lea, will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of St. Theodore in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Traufler and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate. Interment will be in the St. Theodore&8217;s Cemetery. Jodi died Monday, Aug. 27, 2007, at her parents&8217; home.

Jodi Marie Wangsness was born May 15, 1966, to Ronald and Marilyn (Ferring) Remakel in Albert Lea. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1984 and attended Riverland Community College, where she studied Childcare. Jodi was employed at the Albert Lea Community Child Care Center, now known as The Children&8217;s Center, for 20 years. She held many positions there with the latest being that of head teacher in &8220;The Kids Club Room.&8221; Jodi married Barry Wangsness on Aug. 21, 1993, at the Church of St. Theodore. Jodi and Barry were co-owners of the Pizza Ranch Restaurant. She was a member of the Church of St. Theodore, Noon Kiwanis, Sunset Saddle Club, and the Cancer Support Group. Jodi enjoyed shopping, eating, racing, golf, and horses, and enjoyed watching the fountains on Fountain Lake. Jodi was very devoted to children and put everyone else ahead of herself.

Survivors include her husband, Barry; parents, Ron and Marilyn Remakel; mother-in-law, Gerri Wangsness; brother, Mike (Laurie) Remakel; sister, Marcie (Todd) Anderson; nieces, Nikki (Mike) Olsen, Ashley Anderson, and Sami Remakel; nephews, Colton Remakel and Ty Anderson; great-nephew, Logan Olsen; and brothers-in-law: Bruce (Judy) Wangsness, Bob Wangsness, Steve (Lori) Wangsness, Mike (Wanda) Wangsness, and Jeff (Denise) Wangsness; sister-in-law, Sharon Peterson, and many other nieces and nephews.

Jodi was preceded in death by her grandparents, Grace and Clete Ferring and Mike and Rose Remakel; and father-in-law, Herman Wangsness.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Crossroads Community Hospice, Sunset Saddle Club, or the Humane Society.
