Rebels down Huskies

OWATONNA &8212; The United South Central girls&8217; tennis team improved to 2-1 Monday with a 4-3 win over Owatonna.

The Rebels picked up a pair of singles wins with Jordan Anderson winning a tight match at No. 3 singles 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Taylor Alis followed that up with another hard fought victory at No. 4 7-5, 7-5.

USC&8217;s top two doubles teams continued to churn out the wins. Molly Yokiel and Jessica Stensrud lost the first set 3-6 but came back for the victory 6-2, 6-2. Emma Stenzel and Kellie Robbins would sew up the team win with a dominating 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2.

Andrea Allis was downed at No. 1 singles 2-6, 2-6 while Carolyn Schmitz lost in three 4-6, 7-5, 3-6.

The No. 3 doubles team of Haleigh Korn and Amanda Huper were also downed 4-6, 3-6.

USC is back in action today at New Ulm.
