Ruby Knudtson, 86, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Ruby (Myre) Knudtson of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Marcia Hall will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Ruby died Monday morning, Aug. 13, 2007, at Albert Lea Medical Center. She was 86 years of age.
She was born Sept. 15, 1920 in Geneva the daughter of Helmer and Ethel (Trail) Myre. She graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1938. On July 20, 1941, she was united in marriage to Wilfred Knudtson at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Ruby was employed as a telephone operator and later became the bookkeeper for Myre Hardware and Krieger Beverage Co in Albert Lea. She was a member of the Naeve Hospital Auxiliary, the Elks Club, the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary.
Ruby enjoyed spending her winters in Pharr, Texas, with her husband Will as well as traveling together. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing and loved animals. Her grandchildren were the love of her life as was the rest of her family. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. At one point in her life, Ruby held her private pilots license and rode motorcycles.
Ruby is survived by her daughter, Donna and husband Dick Davies of Albert Lea and two grandsons, Scott and his wife Kathleen and their children Sydney and Spencer of Cleveland, Minn., and Doug and his wife Darla and their children April and Heather of Glenville. One sister-in-law, Irene Myre of Albert Lea survives, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wilfred, and two Brothers Herman and Charles (Jane) Myre.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the donors&8217; choice.
