She had been lovingly cared for by the nurses and staff at St. John’s Lutheran Home for the past seven years, the last two in Sheltering Arms. The family is so thankful for all the special tender loving care she had received.

Alvina was born on Jan. 15, 1914, in Carlston Township, near Alden, the daughter of A. Chris and Agnes (Johnson) Jorgensen. She married Donald Wilkinson on Feb. 22, 1936, on a farm near Alden. To this union three daughters were born, Darlene, Diane, and Donna. Donald died in 1974. On May 17, 1980, she married Waldo Smith at Trinity Lutheran Church, he also preceded her in death.

Alvina had worked for a time at department stores in Albert Lea, including Spurgeons and Wallaces. An active and faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Alvina had been involved in the Sunbeam Circle, Altar Guild, taught Sunday School and Bible School, and loved helping serve at all church functions.
