Bulldogs dominate at Central Springs Tourney

MANLY &8212; The Lake Mills volleyball team won five matches en route to the Central Springs Tournament over the weekend.
The Bulldogs opened the day with their biggest challenge from Rockford, who pushed Lake Mills to three games before winning 21-17, 15-21, 15-9.
The Bulldogs downed CAL 21-15, 21-10, Eagle Grove never challenged the Bulldogs in falling 21-3, 21-3, Clarksville lost 21-5, 21-11 and Central Springs was no match in the championship round falling 21-19, 21-14.
Jordynn Brackey led a balanced offensive attack for the Bulldogs with 36 kills on the day, Ali Dugger added 19, Cassie Fjeld had 14 and Sammy Nelson added 11.
Cassie Christianson had 11 aces serving to lead the team and dished out 75 assists.
With the win, the Bulldogs remain perfect on the season at 14-0 and have lost just two games all season.
NRHEG takes third
MONTGOMERY &8212; The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva volleyball team claimed third place at the Montomgery-Lonsdale Tournament over the weekend.
The Panthers downed Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton in the third place game 25-23, 25-21.
&8220;We picked up some great digs and Cailin (Timm) and Alyssa (Hagen) took advantage of the great passes and sets,&8221; NRHEG head coach Nicole Kuhns said.
Both Timm and Hagen had five kills in the match while Taylor Wacholz, Kelsey Christensen and Paige Schlaak played strong defense for the team.
The Panthers finished second in pool play splitting with Cannon Falls 17-25, 25-22, rebounded to down Cleveland 25-19, 25-19 and split with LeCenter 20-25, 26-24.
NRHEG just missed playing in the championship match coming up short to the host school 8-25, 19-25.
