Harvey Fendrich, 80, Wells

Harvey Fendrich, 80, of Wells, died on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at his home in rural Wells. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. The Rev. Eugene Stenzel will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells with prayer service at 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m.

Burial will be in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery.

Harvey Fendrich was born on Jan. 18, 1927, in Easton, the son of Joseph and Amelia (Bauer) Fendrich. He attended country school and Easton Parochial School. On Nov. 15, 1949, he married Betty Lou More in Waldorf. He was a farmer and carpenter.

Member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus (4th Degree), was a former board member of Walnut Lake Township, and former member of the Wells Community Ambulance Service, and a member of Farmers Union.

Harvey loved his family, farming, fishing and deer hunting with his sons and grandsons.

He is survived by his wife Betty Lou; five children: Mary Witte of Northwood, Iowa, Marvin (LeAnn) Fendrich of Emmons, Marlene (David) Huper of Alden, Mark (Lynn) Fendrich of Wells, and Marlin Fendrich of Kiester; grandchildren: Kim (Chris) Hillenga, Jeremy (Lynn) Witte, Justin Witte, Deena Witte (special friend Matt), Eric (Melissa) Huper, Kristi (Joe) Koziolek, Danielle Huper (special friend Jake), Logan Fendrich (special friend Shawnee), Zach Fendrich (special friend Cassandra) and Cheyenne Fendrich; great-grandchildren: Crystal and Lance Hillenga, Brittany and Austin Witte, Emily Witte, Daylyn and Caldyn Huper; one sister: Mary Jane Raimann of Mapleton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents, three sisters and one brother.
