Robert Hallum, 59, Deland, Fla.

A memorial service will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church Saturday, Sept. 15, at 1:30 p.m. for Robert (Bob) Hallum of Deland, Fla., who passed away Aug. 21, 2007, in Deland. Visitation with the family is one hour before the service. The Rev. Mark Boorsma will officiate.

Robert Hallum, formerly of Albert Lea, was born in Albert Lea July 20, 1948, the son of Elaine Hallum and the late Don Hallum Sr. He was baptized in August of 1948 in Hartland. He was confirmed in May of 1963 at Lunder Lutheran Church. He attended school in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School with the class of 1966. Later he enlisted in the army and served overseas in Korea. After serving in the armed forces, he moved to Georgia and was employed many years as Proctor and Gamble in Augusta. He later moved to Deland, Fla., where he drove truck for the Roger Davis Trucking Company. He was working there when he passed away from a heart attack.

Survived by two daughters, Cynthia (Tony) Turner of Lincolnton, Ga., and Susan (Kenny) Andrews of North Augusta, S.C.; grandchildren, C.J. Turner, Cody Turner, and Hannah Andrews; mother, Elaine Hallum of Albert Lea; sister Donna (Randy) Soper of Marshalltown, Iowa; brothers, Richard (Nina) Hallum of Louisville, Ky., Don Hallum, Jr. (fianc/ Katherine Koepner) of Deland, Fla., and Ronald Hallum of Albert Lea; nieces and nephews, Ginny Hallum, Todd Hallum, Rachel Hallum, Rebecca Hallum, Kurt (Amanda) Soper, Dan (Ana) Soper, Allison (Andrew) Prescott, and Cameron Prescott. He is also survived by his former wife, Gwen Hallum, of North Augusta, S.C. Three aunts and uncles survive, Edward and Joyce Hendrickson, and Clayton Warke all of Albert Lea.

Preceded in death by his father, grandparents, many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation was held in Deland, Fla., and also in Wrens, Ga. A graveside service was held Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Keysville, Ga., United Methodist Church Cemetery with Richard Hallum in charge.
