NORTHFIELD &8212; Albert Lea&8217;s boys&8217; and girls&8217; cross country teams competed in the Northfield Invitational at St. Olaf College Thursday afternoon with the boys finishing seventh out of 10 teams and the girls placing 11th out of 12 teams.

&8220;Both the boys and girls had a good outing in Northfield,&8221; said Tigers head coach Jim Haney. &8220;The boys dropped their times to the levels we would like, and we are getting closer each week to making that major breakthrough.

&8220;The girls ran well, we were hoping for a higher finish but this was not our week. That does not mean we did not improve, we did, as times dropped for my varsity runners.&8221;
