TRUMAN &8212; For the first time all season the Alden-Conger football team put two consecutive wins together when they pounded Truman 45-12 Friday night.
&8220;Truman may have surprised us a little tonight, with the scores they had been giving up we didn&8217;t expect them to come out and play that well,&8221; said Knight&8217;s head coach Chad Mattson. &8220;They played us real tough early and we had trouble with their blitz, but once we figured it out and started hitting the short passes things started going our way.&8221;
The Knight&8217;s jumped on Truman early with eight in the first quarter and 22 more in the second for a commanding 30-6 lead at the break. From that point on it was time to air it out in the passing game for the Knight&8217;s as they put up 312 yards through the air, including a slant to Sam Hallman that he took 60 yards for A-C&8217;s final score in the 45-12 win.
Mitchell Kleinschrodt had an outstanding night throwing the ball with 287 yards and 4 touchdowns, he also ran the ball for 68 yards. Lucas Kleinschrodt was on the receiving end of six of those balls for 149 yards and two TD&8217;s.
With the win the Knight&8217;s reach the .500 mark for the first time this season at 3-3. A-C will be back at home Friday when the Wolverines from Glenville-Emmons come to Alden for their annual slugfest.
