Clarine M. Brua Larson, 73, Albert Lea

Clarine M. Brua Larson of Albert Lea died unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City. She was 73.

The funeral service for Clarine will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service, Albert Lea. The Rev.

Jeff Laeger-Hagemeister will officiate. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Bonnerup Funeral Service and one hour before services.

She was born on Jan. 14, 1934, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Leslie and Alma (Nassen) Slaughter.

She attended Albert Lea schools.

On April 10, 1951 she married Jerry Brua. To this union five children were born: Cindy, Sandra, Vicki, Jerry and Debra. Jerry died as a result of a car accident on July 12, 1960.

On June 13, 1964, Clarine married Stanley L. Larson, Stanley also preceded her in death on July 2, 1987.

For many years Clarine had worked as a beautician and partnered in the Northside Beauty Shop. She also worked part time at Boyd & Jacks County Market. She was proud to have obtained her secretarial certification from Riverland Community College when she was in her 50s.

She was a member of the Eagle&8217;s Auxiliary. Clarine was a devoted mother and grandmother and loved her monthly mother-daughter outings. She enjoyed her morning coffee sessions with her friends and her monthly neighborhood birthday luncheons.

She spent a lot of time on her computer with her groups of friends.

Clarine is survived by her five children and their families: Cindy Bryant and children William, Colin and Nathan; Sandra Bierne and children Bryan and Kelly; Vicki Evans and husband JB and children; Stacia Donovan and her partner Scott Waxvik and their daughter Jazzelle Marie; and Evan Long, Jerry Brua and wife Tammy and children Tasha, Trey, and Tori; Debra Drescher and husband Michael and children Brandon and Amber; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Jean Slaughter, Howard & Teresa Brua, Harvey and Donna Brua, Chuck and Shirley Brua, Sharon Brua, Chauncey Brua, Vivian Brua, Ross and Francie Petersen and several nieces, nephews, and her pet and companion Molly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands Jerry and Stanley; sister Joann Toot; brother Melvin Slaughter; brother-in-law Ole Brua; and sister-in-law Glenys Brua.
