WELLS &8212; The veteran United South Central volleyball team took advantage of an off night by New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva and won its Gopher Conference match-up 25-20, 25-18, and 25-15.
&8220;Tonight was just not our night,&8221; said Panther&8217;s head coach Nicole Kuhns. &8220;We couldn&8217;t serve and we couldn&8217;t get any offense going, but give USC credit, they are a good team and played really well tonight.&8221;
Once again the duo of Cailin Timm and Alyssa Hagen came up big for the Panther&8217;s with eight kills each while Jenna Brekke had 20 set assists.
Although the loss drops NRHEG to 8-7-2 it still has an advantage over the Rebels (11-5-2) in the Gopher Conference standings at 5-5 to 3-4.
Both squads are headed to Blue Earth for a tournament this Saturday
