Eunice Bergstrom, 85, Austin

Eunice Underland Bergstrom, 85, of Austin, died Tuesday evening, Oct. 23, 2007, at the St. Elizabeth&8217;s Care Facility in Wabasha.
Eunice was born June 15, 1922, at Brookings, S.D., the daughter of Cornelius and Martha (Seim) Underland. She was baptized and confirmed at the Moscow Lutheran
Church. She graduated from Austin High School and was married to Richard W. Bergstrom on July 25, 1941, at the Moscow Lutheran Church, Austin.
Eunice was an active member of the Moscow Lutheran Church and St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, as well as the Sons of Norway and the Mower
County Senior
Center. She was self employed in sales, selling sandals and make-up from her home over the years. She was an avid gardener and loved flower gardening as well as lawn mowing. Eunice was a wonderful cook who enjoyed &8220;fancy&8221; entertaining, card playing and dancing. In 1968 Richard and Eunice visited Norway and she returned there in 2001 with her daughter Judy to again visit her family there. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard W. Bergstrom in 2002. a son Jerry, infant daughter, brothers Arthur and Kenneth Underland and sisters, Clara Chilson and Minnie Underdahl.
Eunice is survived by, daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Gerald Mittag, Wabasha; son, Jim Bergstrom, Austin; daughter-in-law and husband; Jeanne (Bergstrom) and Ron Wangen, Oakland; grandchildren, Brian Draayer and Jill, Brenda (Steve) Kuettner, Jeremy (Kelly) Bergstrom, John (Annesa) Bergstrom; 10 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ordell and Ethel Underland, Hayward, brother-in-law and friend, Arnold Bergstrom and Helen Broitzman, Austin; nieces and Nephews and many cousins in the Bergen, Norway area.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ron Barnett officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. Friends may call for one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. The Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
