Gerritdina Heijerman, 88, Hollandale

Funeral services for Gerritdina &8220;Dien&8221; Heijerman of Hollandale, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hollandale Reformed Church, Hollandale. The Rev. Ron Fikkema will officiate. Visitation will be this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bonnerup Funeral Service, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Hollandale Cemetery.
Mrs. Heijerman died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at the Albert Lea Good Samaritan Center. She was 88 years of age.
Dien was born Oct. 11, 1919, in Nyverdal, Holland, the daughter of Jan and Maria Nijmeiyer. She attended public school in Holland.
On Nov. 4, 1949, she was united in marriage to Henry Heijerman in Nyverdal, Holland. Together they immigrated to Clarks Grove in 1950 and later moved to Hollandale.
Dien was an active member of the Hollandale Reformed Church. She was a homemaker and loved to work outside. Her hobbies included needle point, board games and crossword puzzles.
Dien is survived by her three sons, Paul and Paulette of Hollandale, John and Paula of Hollandale, Mark and Shelly of Rock Valley, Iowa. There are nine grandchildren, Heather, Dave, Rob, Brian, Greg, Sarah, Laura, Thomas and Pamela. Also surviving is one sister, Marrie Nijenhuis of Nyverdal, Holland.
Dien was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry in 1996, granddaughter Michelle at birth, two brothers, Gerrit and Bernard and two sisters Chrisje and Nel.
