Irene Kenevan, 94, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Irene Kenevan, age 94, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at the Church of St. Theodore, Albert Lea. The Rev. James Burning and Deacon Mike Ellis will officiate.
Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Irene died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2007, at her home.
Irene Alma Kenevan was born on Aug. 15, 1913, to Frank and Anna (Kuhlmann) Meister in Lakefield.
She attended the Lakefield schools and moved to Albert Lea with her family when she was 12 years old. Irene worked for nursing homes in Rochester and Plainview as an activities coordinator. She married Raymond Kenevan on May 4, 1942, at St. Augustine&8217;s Catholic Church in Austin. They were engaged in farming and Irene was a homemaker. They lived in Rochester and Plainview and became Montana residents from 1975 through 1990 when they moved back to Albert Lea. Irene had a passion for cooking and was an excellent cook and baker. Irene loved spending time with her many friends and her family.
She also enjoyed taking trips with her husband.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Tope of Albert Lea; grandchildren Shawn Tope of Albert Lea and Jason Tope of St. Paul; sister Verdella Farris of Albert Lea; and several nieces, nephews and their children.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; and brothers, Lauren Meister and Florimond Meister.
