Man arrested for controlled substance possession

Police arrested Trevor Bellrichard, 18, for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance at 11:26 p.m. Monday after a traffic stop at 1210 E. Main St., according to police reports. Reports indicated an officer stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Main Street and Garfield Avenue to conduct a probation check. During the stop, an officer found Bellrichard in possession of a baggie containing white pills that were believed to be Vicodin, a scale and a small amount of marijuana. Also cited was Brohdy Avery, 19, of Twin Lakes for possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. Charges are also being requested against a 17-year-old female who was in the vehicle.

Man hit by car

An 80-year-old Albert Lea man reportedly had his foot ran over at 1:50 p.m. Monday after stepping off the curb to cross the road on Hawthorne Street, according to police reports. The man received some foot injuries but was not transported to the Albert Lea Medical Center.

A vehicle was reported keyed while parked at the Bel Aire Motor Inn on 700 Highway 69 on Sunday night, according to police reports.
