The rainy weather forced the postponement of the Albert Lea girls&8217; soccer section final with Mankato East Thursday.

The game will be played Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hammer Field.

Tiger wrestlers to host car wash

Albert Lea wrestlers will have a car wash Oct. 27 at the Dairy Queen on South Broadway Avenue from 9 a.m. to noon to raise money for the whole program K-12.

The cost is $5 and wrestlers of all ages will be there to wash cars.

Albert Lea boys&8217; soccer banquet Monday

The Albert Lea boys&8217; soccer team will have its wrap-up banquet Monday at 6 p.m. in the high school commons.

The coaches and players eat for free with a $5 charge for all others.

Jacobs promoted by Rangers

Rianna Jacobs, a 2001 graduate of Austin High School, has been promoted to new responsibilities with the Texas Rangers.

Jacobs started with the Rangers in January 2006 as an inside sales representative and was promoted to group sales account executive in September.

Jacobs is the daughter of Bruce and Janell Jacobs and the granddaughter of George and Dode Jacobs.
