After playing so well in its first game of the night the talented but young Albert Lea volleyball team lost 3-1 Thursday to Big Nine rival Winona 27-25, 15-25, 21-25, and 17-25.
&8220;We played great in that first game but just couldn&8217;t get anything done after that,&8221; said Tigers head coach Lisa Deyak. &8220;It all comes down to experience and we are pretty young at this point with just one girl that has any real varsity playing time.
&8220;But once the girls get to be freshman and sophomores there is only so much you can teach them, we need to start getting girls when they are in the fourth grade and start building this program back up.&8221;
Hitters Annika Smed and Nichelle Klatt led the Tiger assault at the net with eight kills each while Jessica Sosebee had two set assists.
With the loss the Tigers drop to 5-13 on the year as they travel to Blue Earth for a tournament this Saturday.
