USC tennis team wins 7-0, advances

WELLS &8212; The eighth-ranked United South Central girls&8217; tennis team made short work of Fairmont in the Section 2A quarterfinal round winning 7-0.
Andrea Allis began the singles sweep at No. 1 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory followed by a 6-2, 6-0 win for Carolyn Schmitz. Jordan Anderson did not drop a game on her way to the two-set victory at No. 3 and Taylor Allis was a winner by default at No. 4.
In doubles action, the Rebels&8217; top team of Jessica Stensrud and Molly Yokiel won 6-0, 6-0 as did the No. 2 team of Emma Stenzel and Kellie Robbins. Amanda Huper and Cami Christian won by default at No. 3.
The Rebels are back in action today in Wells when they face LeSueur-Henderson. The winner earns a trip to Gustavus Adolphus for the section final Thursday.
