WASECA &8212; After a promising opening-night victory Tuesday the Albert Lea girls&8217; basketball team ran into some trouble on both ends of the floor against Waseca and lost 37-27 Thursday.
The Tigers (1-1) had trouble protecting the ball against pressure which led to turnovers and some easy points for the Bluejays.
&8220;We have some girls that are in some roles they may not be comfortable with, but because of our situation they have to play there,&8221; Albert Lea head coach Karol Hansen said. &8220;This is a different group of girls and it is going to take some time getting used to playing with each other.&8221;
Albert Lea was led by Jessica Sosebee who had eight points while Katie Schou added seven.
The Tigers were up 19-16 in the second half, but poor shooting kept them from maintaining the advantage.
Nichelle Klatt played a strong game in the post leading the team with eight rebounds while Abbey Arends added seven.
The Tigers are back in action Tuesday when they travel to Mankato to face West before opening their home season Thursday.
