Cora Anderson, 90, Albert Lea

The funeral service for Cora M. Anderson, of St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home in Albert Lea, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Chapel. The Rev. Curtis Zieske will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Glenville. Visitation will be one hour before services at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Chapel.

Cora died on Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home. She was 90.

She was born on March 6, 1917, in Freeborn County, the daughter of Charles P. and Laura (Peterson) Jensen. On Feb. 26, 1950, she married Arthur Anderson in Northwood, Iowa. Cora had worked at the Standard Caf/, Wells Canning Factory, had done house cleaning, and also worked at Naeve Hospital. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she had been active in church women and the sewing club. Cora, a very devout Christian, enjoyed reading her Bible daily, playing church hymns, and helping others. In her earlier days, she enjoyed board games, memory challenges, walking, travel and various crafts such as quilting and making fancy pillows. In her later years, she enjoyed the craft and reading activities at St. John&8217;s, with reading and writing poetry one of her trade mark activities.

She is survived by two sons; Robert D. Anderson and his wife Pat of Centennial, Colo., and Wayne M. Anderson of

Georgia; several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975; an infant son Melvin in 1952; sister Lila Schultz; and brothers William P., Arthur, Harry and Victor

Jensen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home.
