LAKE MILLS &8212;The Lake Mills girls&8217; basketball team opened up its season with a 47-31 loss to St. Ansgar Tuesday.

Whitney Thompson led the Bulldogs with 10 points while Megan Neuwohner had eight points and four rebounds.

St. Ansgar had a four-point lead after one quarter, but Lake Mills managed just two points in the second quarter.

Lake Mills did get to the line often hitting on 14 of 28 attempts.

St. Ansgar was led by Taylor Rustad who had 11 points.
