Miller named to all-tourney team

MINNEAPOLIS &8212; Wells Fargo, the premier corporate sponsor of the Minnesota State High School League, announced that Albert Lea defender Sophie Miller was named a recipient of this year&8217;s Wells Fargo All-Tournament Team award for Class A girls&8217; soccer.
The awards recognize student athletes who demonstrate exceptional sportsmanship, team commitment, athletic ability and leadership during the state high school tournaments. Athletes are selected to the Wells Fargo All-Tournament Team by a panel of coaches attending the tournament.
Sixteen awards are presented in both Class A boys&8217; and girls&8217; Soccer.
Miller, a sophomore, helped lead the Tigers to their first state tournament appearance in school history where they lost in the quarterfinals to eventual runner-up The Blake School 2-0.
Miller was an honorable mention all-state performer for Albert Lea this past season.
Wells Fargo is the premier corporate sponsor of the MSHSL. This sponsorship helps offset the costs associated with tournaments and fine arts events for Minnesota students. It also supports programs such as the MSHSL High School Hall of Fame, along with the Challenge Cup, a program which selects the best Minnesota schools in Class A and Class AA for athletic and fine arts competitions. Wells Fargo also co-sponsors the Spotlight on the Arts campaign, which promotes awareness and visibility of high school fine arts programs in schools and communities throughout the state.
