Stanley Seifert, 96, Onamia

Stanley Joseph Seifert, 96, of Onamia, formerly of Wells, died Monday, Nov.12, 2007, at the Onamia Hospital at Onamia. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Fr. Eugene Stenzel will officiate and burial will be in St. Casimir Cemetery.
Stanley Seifert was born July 14, 1911, in Minneapolis, the son of Anthony A. and Otilda (Sampson) Seifert. He grew up in Minneapolis, was a graduate of De LaSalle High School, he studied music at MacPhail Center for the Arts and attended Business College at St. Thomas. On Jan. 19, 1934, he married his wife of 58 years, Rose A. McDermott at Incarnation Church in Minneapolis.
Stan had a lifelong career with Gambles, having moved to Wells in the spring of 1947. He owned and operated Gambles in Wells until his retirement in 1975. He enjoyed fishing, playing bridge, and golf.
He and Rose traveled extensively. He was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by 4 sons: Roger Seifert of Stone Mountain, Ga.; Stanley Paul (Jan Olinger) Seifert of Rotunda West, Fla.; Richard (Judy Pregler) Seifert of Isle; and William (Su Phenix) Seifert of Minneapolis; one daughter: Carol Kelley (James Wilmot) of Littleton, Colo. 11 grandchildren: LeeAnn (Doug) Mason, Annie (Gerry) Nechvatal, Mary (Doug) Bloomquist, Beth (Mike) McGowen, Lara (Tom) Bundros, Cassie (Guy) Wuollet, Terry (Bob) Pollock, Gregory Seifert, Steve (Tricia) Seifert, Jason Kelley, Kyle Kelley, and Amy (Chad) Nelson.
16 great-grandchildren: Tiffany, Brittany, Olivia, Evan, Morgan, Chloe, Zachary, Anthony, Anna Grace, Christina, Matthew, Madelynne, Taylor, Corinn, Townesend, and Walker.
He is survived by one sister Beverly Cunningham of Richfield. He
also has many, many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Rose, his granddaughter Megan Rose, and 1 brother Lamont Seifert of the Los Angeles area.
