Albina Reyant, 92, Owatonna

Albina M. Reyant, 92, of Owatonna, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2007, at Cedarview Care Center.

She was born Dec. 6, 1914, in Somerset Township, the daughter of Frank and Julia (Hruska) Kubista. She was married to Charles Reyant June 19, 1933, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Owatonna. She farmed in Lemond, Hope, and the Blooming Prairie area. In 1942 they purchased a farm near West Concord where they farmed until they retired in 1961. They moved in to West Concord until 1968, when they moved to Owatonna and purchased a home. Charles died on Dec. 18, 1988. Albina worked at Cedarview Nursing home for several years as a nurse&8217;s aide and lived in her home until a month ago. She was a Gold Star Mother. She enjoyed playing cards, raising and dressing poultry, and she loved to cook and bake.

Albina is survived by six children, son Richard (Betty) Reyant of West Concord, daughter Rita (Jim) Berning of Owatonna, son Luverne Reyant of Helena, Mont., daughter Monica Sulucco of Balboa, Calif., daughter Regina (Ernie) Wood of Las Vegas, Nev., and daughter Barbara (Bert) Antoine of Owatonna; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Martha Schrom of Fort Collins, Colo. and sister Harriet Jirsousek of Owatonna; and brother Charles (Eileen) Kubista of Owatonna.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one son.

Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The Rev. James C. Berning will be officiating. Interment will be in the St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in West Concord.
