Editorial: Be sure to tip your carrier
Published 12:00 am Monday, December 24, 2007
Delivering newspapers is a time-honored tradition across America. Being a carrier is often a child&8217;s first job. It teaches responsibility and work ethic.
Carriers of all ages brave the weather to set a newspaper on your doorstep.
And the price people pay for a newspaper is inexpensive in comparison to other products in this world. (For the price of gas, companies should fill your car in its driveway.)
You tip a waiter for carrying food a few feet. Carriers deliver the paper miles and miles. Be sure to tip them this Christmas season.
Here&8217;s to the Tribune carriers on Christmas Eve. Thank you.
