Memorial services for Marlys B. Jahnke, age 77, of Albert Lea will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Todd Walsh will officiate. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the services at the church.

Marlys died on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at St. Marys Hospital, Rochester.

Marlys B. Jahnke was born on Jan. 24, 1930, in Minneapolis, the daughter of Rudy and Josephine (Rieten) Grasdalen. She was baptized at Central Lutheran Church, Minneapolis. Marlys attended and graduated from Albert Lea High School. On Sept. 21, 1947, she was united in marriage to Vern Jahnke at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Austin. Marlys worked in the office at Wilson&8217;s and then at Almco retiring from there after 24 1/2 years. She enjoyed collecting, traveling and spending winters with her husband in Texas.

Marlys was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Vern; sister, Joan Grasdalen, Minneapolis; brother, Loren and wife Mary Grasdalen, Albert Lea; two nephews, Keith Grasdalen, Alabama and Eric Grasdalen, Rochester.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Scholarship Fund.
