MANKATO &8212;The Albert Lea boys&8217; swim team opened up its dual season with a 97-78 loss to Mankato West Thursday.

The Tigers posted a pair of wins at the meet including the first relay of the night when Matt Van Fossen, Chris Dorman, Ethan Marquardt and Jordan Elleby flew through the water in 1:51.91 to get the win.

Van Fossen also won the 100 butterfly by over two seconds in 57.30 and was second in the 200 IM in 2:13.68.

Elleby finished second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 57.21.

The 200 free relay team of Van Fossen, Dorman, Elleby and Marquardt took second in 1:40.78.

The Tigers hosted an invite Saturday and travel to Mankato to face East Friday.
