Tigers put Winona on ice, move to 4-1

The Albert Lea boys&8217; hockey team fell behind by a pair of goals deep into the first period, but the Tigers rallied to down Winona 5-3 Thursday.

Casey Woodside would start the rally with a goal with less than three minutes remaining in the first. Adam Royce and Jared Bowman assisted on the tally.

The Tigers would take control of the game in the second period with four goals.

Tyler Prihoda lit the lamp 4:21 into the second and Royce added another just over two minutes later to give the Tigers the lead. Blake Adams made it four consecutive Albert Lea goals before the Winhawks got back on the board.

Woodside added the Tigers&8217; final goal of the second as the teams played a scoreless third period.

Royce, Prihoda and Bowman all finished the game with three points.

Albert Lea dominated the game offensively outshooting the Winhawks 55-21.

Tyler Distad was in net for the Tigers and recorded 18 saves.

The Tigers are now 4-1 on the season and are back in action Tuesday when they host Rochester Century.
