Vikings pick up second win, 47-31

NORTHWOOD &045; The Northwood-Kensett girls&8217; basketball team picked up its second win of the season Saturday doing North Iowa 47-31.

The Vikings built up a 24-9 halftime lead and cruised to the win even after North Iowa closed the lead to five to start the fourth quarter.

Kate Hartman led the Vikings with 16 points and Lauren Hartman added 13. N-K made more free throws than North Iowa attempted in the game hitting on 11 of 19 attempts.

N-K is back in action Tuesday when they face St. Ansgar.

Stewartville 66,USC 60

The United South Central boys&8217; lost their second straight game at the Lewiston-Altura Tournament Saturday falling to Stewartville, 66-60.

The Rebels were able to trim into a 10-point halftime deficit but were unable to complete the comeback. Brian Hauge led the USC with 13 points and Tom Eilertson had nine points.

USC is back in action Tuesday when they host Martin County West.
