Go, Albert Lea.
Our fair city beat Austin last year in the food drive held by the letter carriers in two cities. Now the chambers of commerce in Albert Lea and Austin are battling it out in a food drive to benefit the Salvation Army.
It&8217;s the Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce versus the Austin Area Chamber of Commerce. The two chambers will collect food through March 11.
That means Albert Lea and Freeborn County residents need to bring in their nonperishable food items to the chamber office at the corner of Marshall Street and Bridge Avenue.
The Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce has suggested companies hold food drives among employees and then bring the donated supplies to the chamber office.
We know Albert Lea can whoop Austin again. Let&8217;s show them which community is best.
