Gilma Armstrong, 92, Hartland

Funeral services for Gilma Margaret Armstrong of Hartland will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 at the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Hartland. The Rev. Dennis Frank will officiate. Visitation will be Monday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Friedrich Funeral Home in New Richland and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Hartland Cemetery.
Gilma died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008, at the Good Samaritan Center in Albert Lea. She was 92 years of age.
Gilma was born Nov. 13, 1915, in New Richland, the daughter of Burt and Bessie (Brandvold) Daffinrud. She graduated from New Richland High School in 1934.
In 1942 she was united in marriage to Irvin Armstrong at the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland. She had been employed for many years at the Siblerud Grocery in Hartland.
Gilma was a member of the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church and was active in the church circle and played piano for the ladies aid. In her free time, Gilma enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crossword puzzles and word connect puzzles.
Gilma is survived by her children, Bruce Armstrong of Hartland, and Nancy and her husband, Dennis Jensen, of Apple Valley. Grandchildren include Jennifer (Brad) Becker and Jason (Kelly) Jensen. There are two great grandchildren, Annabella and Madeline Becker.
Gilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband Irvin in 2003 granddaughter Tammy Jensen, Brother George Daffinrud and Sister Ellen Jacobson.
