Janice Bauers, 63, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Janice Marie Bauers, age 63, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lunder Lutheran Church. The Rev. Tammy Dahlvang will officiate.

Interment will be at Lunder Cemetery. Visitation will be from

4 to 7 p.m. Monday, at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.

After a courageous 12-year battle with ovarian cancer, Janice died peacefully Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Albert Lea Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Janice Marie Bauers was born on April 4, 1944, to Joseph and Gladys (Schneider) Dixon in Albert Lea. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. Janice attended school in Albert Lea. On Sept. 2, 1961, Janice married Herman Bauers at Lunder Lutheran Church.

She worked at Naeve Hospital, St. John&8217;s Lutheran Home and Knudson Place.

Janice also did housecleaning for numerous families in the area. She was a member of Lunder Lutheran Church and the Rachel Circle. Janice loved traveling with Herman, spending time with her children and grandchildren. Being an only child, Janice was blessed with Herman&8217;s family and her many cousins. She had amazing strength and grace and she will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her husband, Herman Bauers of Twin Lakes; children, Jeff and his wife, Marcia Bauers of Twin Lakes, Dawn and her husband Bruce Drescher of Albert Lea, Chris and his wife Angie Bauers of Clarks Grove, and Cory and his wife Colette Bauers of Clarks Grove; grandchildren, Justin and Travis Drescher, Jasmine, Bethany and Jonah Bauers and Nathan, Aaron, and Sabrina Bauers; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Grace and Woody Woodcox of Anderson, Ind., Bill and Kay Bauers Jr. of Albert Lea, Larry and Debbie Struck of Twin Lakes, Sandi and Roelf Oudekerk of Albert Lea and Sharon Bates of LeHigh, Iowa; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, brothers-in-law, Norman Bauers and Henry Bates; and mother- and father-in-law, Bill and Irene Bauers.
