Memorial services for James Joseph Doyle of Albert Lea will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Church of St. Theodore. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Association are preferred.
Mr. Doyle passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2008, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester after having aneurysm surgery. He was 77 years.
He was born in Easton on March 19, 1930, the son of J. Mart and Marie C. (Kipp) Doyle.
James graduated from Wells High School in 1948.
He joined the U.S. Marine Corps on Aug 10, 1948. James was wounded in combat at (Chosin Reservoir) Udamni, North Korea on Dec. 2, 1950. He received the purple heart. James was retired from the Marines Aug. 31, 1951.
He was united in marriage to Wanda June Gardner in August 1955.
James was associated with the investment firm of John G. Kinnard & Co. He served the investors in this area for over 25 years. He was a director and vice president of the firm when he retired.
Survivors include his wife Wanda June Doyle, of Albert Lea; daughters: Christine H. Doyle of Cool, Calif., and Kathleen N. Doyle of Richfield; son, J. Mart Doyle of Blue Earth; grandson, Erin James Doyle of Blue Earth; sisters: Mary K. Schmid of Chanhassen and Nan Herman of Eden Prairie; brother, Dr. T. O. Doyle and Mary Beth of Mankato; sister-in-law, Anne Doyle; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John (Jack) Doyle.
