Lyle J. Hansen, 90, of Albert Lea

The funeral service for Lyle J. Hansen of Albert Lea will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Albert Lea. The Rev. Joel Vano will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea and one hour before the service at the church.
Lyle died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center. He was 90 years old.
He was born Sept. 8, 1917 in Alden, the son of Julius and Lila (Baker) Hansen. He attended rural country school near Alden and then helped his dad farm as well as helping other farmers.
In 1938, Lyle was united in marriage to Elizabeth &8220;Liz&8221; (Bybee). They had celebrated more than 69 years together and were blessed with nine children. Lyle had worked in construction, was a truck driver for Farmers Elevator in Hayward from 1948 until 1965, and then worked at Freeborn Foods until his retirement in 1982.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Elks Club. Lyle was an avid fisherman, a Mr. Fix-it and enjoyed gardening and outside work as well as cooking and canning.
Lyle will be lovingly missed by his family, his wife, Elizabeth, of Albert Lea; children: Rosamond &8220;Rosie&8221; (John) Rasmussen of Albert Lea; LaDonna (George) Hansen Tucker of Jackson, Tenn.; Dennis (Lucy) Hansen of Houston, Texas; Ronald &8220;Red&8221; (Jeanne) Hansen of Albert Lea; Jerry Hansen and Tom Hansen both of Knoxville, Tenn.; Suzanne (Hugh Crawford) Nelson of Albert Lea; Julie (Rod) Rustan of Rochester; Jeff Hansen of Orlando, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Weltzen of McGregor; brothers Gerald (Doris) Hansen of Albert Lea, Leslie (Delores) Hansen of Rice Lake; sister-in-law Mary (Art) Cook of Glendora, Calif.; brothers-in-law Richard (Martha) Bybee of Rowland Heights, Calif.; Charles (Kim) Bybee of Albert Lea and Joe Bybee of Sanford, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
