Marion Dolph, 87, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Marion Edwin Dolph of Albert Lea will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. The Rev. Mike Gerhardt will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Shady Oaks Cemetery, rural Albert Lea.
Mr. Dolph died Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, at the IOOF Home in Mason City, Iowa. He was 87 years of age.
Marion was born June 15, 1920, in Rockwell City, Iowa the son of Adelbert Lee and Bertha Alice Dolph. He was a graduate of Rockwell City High School. On Oct. 28, 1943, he was united in marriage to Alice Mae Dallenbach at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage this past October.
Marion moved to Albert Lea in 1951 and bought the farm where he and Alice resided and farmed for the past 56 years. He was also employed by the Wilson Company for over 21 years.
Marion enjoyed raising honey bees and flowers. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Marion is survived by his wife Alice; children, Melvin and his wife Julie of Manchester, Eloise and her husband Delbert Hunt of Hayward, Don and his wife Pat of Lake Mills, Wis., Darwin and his wife Vicki of Albert Lea, Leta Dolph of Waterloo, Wis., and Duane Dolph of California. There are 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Marion was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Audrey Reager and Beulah Howrey; and brothers, Elmore and Glen.
