No. 14 Tigers breeze past Mankato East

MANKATO &8212; With Jared Bowman scoring four goals and Jared Hughes adding two more the Albert Lea boys&8217; hockey team totally dominated Mankato East Tuesday night 11-1.
&8220;We totally outclassed them tonight,&8221; said Tigers head coach Roy Nystrom. &8220;We are looking forward now to Austin, you just never know what is going to happen when Albert Lea and Austin hit the ice.&8221;
The Tigers went up 7-0 in the first period then added three more in the second for an insurmountable 10-0 advantage after two periods.
Also scoring for the Tigers were Adam Royce, Chris Dokken, Mitchell Sorenson and Darrell Luttrell.
With the impressive win the 14th-ranked Tigers improve to 12-3 overall and 7-1 in the Big Nine.
A.L. will face the winless Packers of Austin (0-12) Thursday at Albert Lea&8217;s City Arena.
The Tigers have now won four in a row since losing a 3-2 overtime decision to second-ranked International Falls in the championship game of Rochester&8217;s holiday tournament.
