Svend Aage Knudsen, 93, of Loveland, Colo., died at Good Samaritan Village in Loveland, Colo., on Dec. 19, 2007. He was born on May 31, 1914, in Rudsuedby, Denmark, to Jens and Hanne Oline Kristine (Jensen) Knudsen.

Svend married Ellen Margrethe Sylvie on March 21, 1952, in Fredricksburg, Denmark. They moved to St. Paul, where Svend became a citizen of the United States on June 27, 1963. They also lived in Denver, Colo., and moved to Loveland, Colo., in 2003.

Svend is survived by son Steen Knudsen of Lakewood, Colo.; daughters Anne-Grethe Knudsen of Laguna Niguel, Calif., Karin Wood (Jeff) of Deadwood, S.D., Lynn Dorothy Small of Fort Collins, Colo.; 13 brothers and sisters; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Ellen Svend on June 2, 2005.

Memorial services were held Dec. 22, 2007, at Good Samaritan Village. Viegut Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
