Fifth-ranked United South Central downed sixth-ranked Maple River 35-20 Friday.
Dustin Dylla got the Rebels off to a strong start earning an 11-2 major decision at 103 before Maple River&8217;s third-ranked Paul Norgren downed Zach Wigern 7-2.
After a Maple River pin at 119, USC won six consecutive matches beginning with a 10-4 win for Preston Staloch at 125. Fifth-ranked Seth Amberg earned a 7-2 decision at 130 to put the Rebels up 10-9 in the team race.
Matthew Wood won a 4-3 decision at 135 and Dan Sandt was a 10-3 winner at 140. Dylan Thisius earned a major decision at 145 and No. 1-ranked Jake Bonsack was a 3-1 winner at 152.
After Maple River closed within 23-15, Nick Stevermer earned a pin at 189 to cement the victory and Maple River forfeited at heavyweight.
