ST. PAUL &8212; It was high tension, and the Tigers came out on top.

Albert Lea beat Prior Lake 28-22 Thursday night to advance to the team dual state semifinals. The team will wrestle again at 7 p.m. Friday.

The contest came down to the heavyweight class. Albert Lea’s heavyweight wrestler Andrew Peterson was trailing 6-2 in the third period of the match when he pinned Prior Lake opponent Nick Norton at the 4-minute-35 second mark.

Albert Lea will face Centennial High School at the Xcel Energy Center. Centennial is in Circle Pines.

In other team action at Class AAA, Centennial defeated Buffalo. Coon Rapids will battle Apple Valley on Friday. Coon Rapids defeated Wayzata 52-10. Apple Valley beat Tartan 52-12.
