Cleon Westrum, 84, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Cleon Harold Westrum, age 84, of will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church, Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Freeborn County Veterans organizations. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Click died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at St. Mary&8217;s Hospital in Rochester.
Cleon (Click) Harold Westrum was born on Jan. 22, 1924, to Clarence and Hilda (Seeger) Westrum in Albert Lea. Click was a lifelong resident of Albert Lea. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1942 after he entered the United States Army. After his discharge, Click returned to Albert Lea and was united in marriage to Helene Nelson on June 23, 1946, at First Lutheran Church. He was employed at the Albert Lea Post Office for 32 years. Click also worked for Four Seasons Travel for many years and also drove a school bus during his working career. He enjoyed yard work, golfing, playing cards, dancing, roller skating and RV travel with his wife. Click was a member of the Elks, American Legion, VFW and First Lutheran Church of Albert Lea where he ushered and served on the church council. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Helene; daughters, Linda Bossart of South St. Paul, and Laurie (Lonny) Lenz of rural Albert Lea; sons, Craig (Karen) Westrum of Albert Lea, and Charles (Carole) Westrum of Apple Valley; grandchildren, Angela Lester, Rochelle (Chad) Quam, Jason Lenz, Chad (Rachel) Westrum, Derek Lenz, Lanae Lenz, Heather (Brandon) Gilmore, and Emily Westrum; great-grandchildren, Brody Lindstrom, Tianna Boyd, Caleb Westrum and Grant Quam; sister, Eileen Stieler of Albert Lea; brother, Dave Westrum of Cathedral City, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Haaland and Arlene Nelson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Aaron (Muriel) Nelson, Paul (Charlotte) Nelson and Carol (Dan) Olsen; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and wonderful friends.
Click was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Hilda Westrum, and sisters, Marge Westrum and Shirley Sweet.
