Editorial: Super Tuesday will be a thrill

Everyone denies an interest in politics &8212; until days like today.
Last week, a speaker in Albert Lea asked a crowd if they were planning to watch the Super Bowl. A few raised their hands. The speaker then asked about Super Tuesday. Many more raised their hands.
Yes, we are Americans. Democracy is in our blood.
If you go to the Minnesota caucuses today, good for you. It&8217;s great that you participate in the election process and you are likely to wonder about the results of Minnesota and all the other states participating in Super Tuesday.
If you do not go, then you surely will be interested in the results, too. Oh sure, some of you might say you aren&8217;t, but you&8217;ll be listening intently when the TV or radio reads the results (or surfing online). You&8217;ll have a reaction and ponder the future of the country. Pardon the double negative, but here it applies: You just can&8217;t not be interested on some level.
Who will the Democrats favor on this Super Tuesday? Who will the Republicans favor? If the results in each party are split among various states, it could be a long campaign, but it would mean the national conventions matter. (That would be good news for Minnesota.)
Forget the pundits today. They can&8217;t seem to predict Americans this year. Super Tuesday, like Super Sunday, could be close to the end. It will be interesting, and so who isn&8217;t interested? You should be. You are Americans. It&8217;s a good day to be one.
