Group supports dog park for community

The Friends of the Albert Lea Dog Park (Friends of A.L.D.P.) are having their next planning/strategy meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday at the Albert Lea Art Center, 224 South Broadway. All citizens interested in seeing this wonderful community resource become a reality are invited to attend.

So far we have seen a lot of progress but much work remains. Both the city council and the park and recreation department have voted to support this project but no funds have been allocated at this time.

The Friends of A.L.D.P., the Humane Society, the Albert Lea Animal Control and other community members are working together to make the dog park the first step in organizing our community for further animal welfare activities, programs and projects.

We are working with the city agencies and the community to raise funds, educate the public and come up with the resources to have this park built as soon as possible.

Your tax deductible donations for this project can be made to The Chamber Foundation (designate &8220;for dog park&8221;) through the Chamber of Commerce, 701 Marshall St., Albert Lea.
