Robert Skophammer, 79, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Robert Donald Skophammer, 79, of Albert Lea will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. Interment will be at Central Freeborn Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Freeborn County veterans organizations. Visitation will be at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
Robert died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at his home.
Robert was born on Nov. 3, 1928, to Thomas and Inanda (Kvidt) Skophammer in Albert Lea. He attended Rofshus School (District 24), Barlow School (District 20) and Albert Lea High School. Robert served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a medical technician. He lived in Freeborn County all his life. Robert enjoyed being on his farm, gardening, and sports. He was a member of Central Freeborn Lutheran Church, the American Legion and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his brother, Duane (Carmen) Skophammer of Albert Lea; sister, Phyllis (Ross) Ulland of Hollandale; nieces, Jean Lunde, Ruth Lunde, Barbara (Tom) Kvale and Rebecca (Michael) Olson; and nephews, Randy (Heidi) Skophammer and Joel (Tracy) Ulland.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Olaf Lunde; and nephew, Greg Ulland.
