STAGE LEFT comes to Riverland Community College Tuesday

Riverland Community Gay-Straight Alliance (RCGSA) will join Q&A, a community group, to present &8220;STAGE LEFT,&8221; an evening of drama, music and discussion dealing with gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender (GLBT) issues.
The evening will include drama, music, poetry and personal stories performed, primarily, by Riverland students and alumni. &8220;STAGE LEFT&8221; is 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Riverland Community College lecture hall at the Albert Lea Campus. Admission is free.
&8220;STAGE LEFT&8221; stands for Straights and Gays for Equality &8212; Listening Entertaining Facilitating Teaching. The evening will include scenes and monologues from &8220;Bent,&8221; &8220;The Laramie Project,&8221; and other plays along with poetry and accounts written by local GLBT persons about growing up/coming out. Music will include songs from &8220;Avenue Q&8221; and &8220;Honk!&8221; Songs and drama include serious as well as humorous material. In addition, representatives from OutFront Minnesota will have informational literature available along with RCGSA and Q&A.; OutFront Minnesota delivers programs and services to the GLBT and allied communities in the areas of public policy, advocacy, education and training, anti-violence, schools and the law.
