Ervin Rickheim, 73, of Caledonia

The funeral service for Ervin J. Rickheim of Caledonia will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Bonnerup Funeral Chapel, Albert Lea. The Rev. Dan Baker will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before service at the chapel. Interment will be in the Lakewood Cemetery.
Erivin J. Rickheim died at his home in Caledonia on Tuesday, March 18, 2008. He was 73 years old.
Ervin was born in Albert Lea on May 20, 1934, the son of Theodore and Loretta (Doyle) Rickheim. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church and was a 1952 graduate of Albert Lea High School. He entered the United States Army after graduation. After two years in the Army he entered Winona State University where he graduated in Business Education. Later he obtained his master&8217;s degree in guidance and counseling from Mankato State University.
Ervin was united in marriage with Carol Ware in 1961 (they were divorced in 1989) and they had two children: Marna and Troy.
Ervin taught business courses and was a guidance counselor in schools in Minnesota, California and Germany. He was a member of the Lions Club for many years. Ervin enjoyed many sports. He played basketball at Winona State University.
Ervin is survived by his two children: Marna Rickheim of Rochester, Troy (Jill) Rickheim of Bloomington; and three grandchildren: David, Cory and Shauna.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert and Roger.
The family encourages friends to bring pictures and stories to the visitation to share with the family.
