Gloria Petersen, 66, of Albert Lea

Gloria Jean (Seltun) Petersen, 66, of Albert Lea, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center of Mason City, Iowa. Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m., also at Redeemer Lutheran Church, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

The Rev. Greg Ofsdahl will officiate.

Gloria was born July 24, 1941 in Albert Lea to Marvin and Ardis Seltun. Gloria was baptized and confirmed at the Danish Lutheran Church in Alden.

On Oct. 2, 1982 she married James Petersen in Alden.

Gloria enjoyed her grandchildren and family, camping, crafting, reading and watching figure skating. She worked as a home health aid for over 20 years and was active in A.R.C.

Gloria Jean Petersen is survived by her husband James Petersen; children and grandchildren Sherri (Nick) Johannsen, Brandon (and special friend Jade), Breanna and (special friend Todd); Steven (Kattie) Lyman, Reilley and Jonah; Scott Lyman and Joshua; Stewart Lyman; Chris (Meghan) Petersen and Ryan; Nicole (Mike) Spear, Brooke, Ethan and Noah; Carl (Lola) Peterson, Katelynn and Ashley; Nisa (Cory) Petersen, Kylee and Koryn; Jamie (Wes) Saunders, Wade and Misty; great-grandchildren Natasha Lyman, Kody Lyman, Iziah Lyman; mother Ardis Seltun; brothers and sister Gary (Linda) Seltun, Glenda Weigel, and Greg (Judy) Seltun; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Marvin Seltun; father and mother-in-law Orville and Dorothy Petersen; children Jerry Petersen, Jason Petersen and Nichelle Petersen.
