NORTHFIELD &8212; The Alden-Conger boys&8217; basketball team got the better of Medford the second time around. The Knights may have dropped their season opener to the Tigers, but Thursday night at St. Olaf College they had all the answers winning 48-40.

A-C got off to a slow start but made a push just before halftime to get within one at 18-17.

The Knights would build a six-point lead in the second half where it would remain for much of the rest of the game.

Paul Little and Sam Hallman led the way for the Knights with 18 and 12 points, respectively. Little would add 11 rebounds to record the double-double.

A-C went 16 of 28 at the free throw line in the game but missed some big shots down the stretch.

&8220;We struggled a little at the line tonight but both Paul and Sam hit a couple of big free throws in the last minute or two to help us win,&8221; Alden-Conger head coach Bill Hintz said.

The road for the Knights gets no easier as they face eighth-ranked Bethlehem Academy Monday at the Mayo Civic Center.
