Legion Auxiliary

Plans for the annual spring salad luncheon were made at the March meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary, Leo Carey Unit 56.
The luncheon will be held Wednesday, April 2, at the Legion Dining Room, 142 N. Broadway Ave. Salads, hot sandwiches and bars will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the public is invited.
On March 26, the Unit will accept items to be packaged and sent to local overseas service personnel. Packages will include food items, toiletries, books and puzzles.
Members approved a $100 donation to the Albert Lea Firefighters school program, $100 to the Freeborn County Historical Museum, $50 to local Arc Special Olympics and $100 to Fisher House.
Each year Unit 56 awards two $400 college scholarships to Albert Lea High School students and applications are available at the school.
Auxiliary Department and National Scholarship applications are also available at the office.
