Loretta Baker, 82, formerly of Albert Lea

Funeral services for Loretta M. Baker of Albert Lea will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea. Capt. Paul Ferguson of the Salvation Army will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday.
Mrs. Baker died Thursday, March 27, 2008 in the evening at the Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, Mo. She was 82 years of age.
Loretta was born Nov. 28, 1925 in Albert Lea, the daughter of Albert and Annette (Nettie) Salhoff Stam. She attended public school in Albert Lea. Loretta was united in marriage to Cleo Eugene Baker who preceded her in death in 1975.
Loretta lived her entire life in Albert Lea until 2004 when she moved to Missouri to live with her daughter. She had been self employed in the cleaning business working for State Farm Insurance, Dr. Gill and Mays Engineering.
Loretta loved to watch game shows, talking with her neighbors, spending time with her pet dog Dolly and sitting on the porch in the warm summer evenings.
Loretta is survived by her daughter Donna and her husband Edwin Hansen of Independence, Mo., grandchildren Tammy, Raymond, Angela and Brenda, and six great grandchildren. There are also five nieces and nephews surviving.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cleo Eugene, son Stanley, sisters Evelyn Tufte, Ollie Sherman and brothers Francis and Harold Stam.
